Just picked up my '84 Mustang L!

Yep, an L, not LX or GT. 5.0 4V 4BBL, 5spd, original body/paint, AC, power everything, plus an extra spare tire and a full tank of gas! HERE'S PICS! And one for the road:

You're tellin me! I'd given up finding one nearby, tho I'd seen this one. After he lowered the price I got way more interested.

It's been registered on Long Island the whole time. They use sand down there. The undercarriage looks great!

Right now I'm wondering just how much I want to mod it, since they only made ~1500 of them. I'm definitely putting on dual exhaust, but I think I'll try an use factory headers and 86-93 cats. The speakers can be upgraded easy enough, but I dunno if I want to cut the dash or replace it with an 87-93 so I can put in a CD deck.

What did a L have (or not) than a GT? My Brother inlaw had an 84 GT and other than the GT molding looks the same.

It should be making 175HP.

There's some differences shown HERE and HERE.

The guys at FourEyedPride are saying it's a GT based on the trim and the body tag (MUSTANG 139693 61 B M 033 1CC DF ST AC 04 PA HB S GT MBW 01 ELECTRIC - A NLR) Questions about that are on the lack of evidence of GT emblems, and why the hatch has metal trim (should be black; could be a replacement.)
