wheel hop?

ok so i switch to these lower control arms
Lakewood Heavy Duty Lower Control Arms: LAK-20150 - summitracing.com

and i got a set of upper control arms but i havent put them on yet(waiting to buy bushings). but i took my quad shocks off. i havent drove it yet hopefully tomorrow. am i going to have wheel hop without having changed my uppers yet? i think i am just going to buy new quad shocks anyway the old ones were junk, they were not that heavy and my tires didnt rub.

If you wanna be sure that wheel hop isn't gonna be an issue, leave the kicker shocks on, or at least get some new ones. That's the whole reason of them being there lol

Especially if you're gonna be using spherical (solid) bushings, which, if it's gonna be a bona-fide track car, wouldn't be at all a bad idea... just a rather rough ride.

P.S. Good choice, Lakewoods are reasonably priced, and perform quite well

with after market lowers you shoulding have a big problem with wheel hop. the factory stamped lowers flex to much and thats why they have the quad shock. The rear suspension on the 99-04 is basically the same and I run Roush lowers with the stock uppers minus the quad shocks and I dont get any wheel hop. I know its the 5.0 section. just thought I'd help you out.

I removed the quads and mounts off the back of my 91, installed some upr chrome moly lowers and had wheel hop out the ass.. switched out the stock uppers for upr's and same wheel hop. Had to switch to adjustable snubbers and adjustable upper control arms and dial in the angle... no more wheel hop at all now

On my daily driver 88 lx I replaced the bushings on the uppers and install steeda lower aluminum control arms with new quad shocks and no wheel hop.

if you ditch the "kicker" shocks (and you should) then install a good set of multi-adjustable rear shocks, like the ones from QA1, will eliminate your wheel hop problem....or atleast they did on my '96 Gt

The first thing we do is toss the quad shocks on every car we buy. You should have no problem even now with the stock uppers on there. I have ran stock uppers with welded/boxed factory lowers (no quads) several times with no issues.
