Removing The Front Sway Bar...

okay so it was veterans day yesterday so since i had the day off figured i'd take the time to do a few things to the car i've been meaning to get done, I changed the oil, and replaced it with Royal Purple 10W30. Runs alot smoother now and used to feel some vibration past 5000 RPM now its smooth all the way to 6000. I also removed the strut tower brace and front sway bar, to free up some weight and help with launching the car. It seems to transfer weight good only problem i have right now, is when i launch the car it seems to wanna kick out to one side when i do a burn out or launch the car or even just stomp the gas while i'm riding. it keep wanting to kick out to the right. Any idea why this would be???

no i didn't ask why the handling is off..i asked why it launches sideways...i've heard of tons of people taking those off. it wasn't to save the 30 or 40 lbs it was to let the weight transfer to the back and help the car launch better.

it's normal for the car to drift to the right on a burnout. But kicking out when you stomp on it is unusual.

well i mean it kicks out from like a 10-20 mph roll...but thats because the car is spinning it doesn't just pull the back to the right when its not spinning. maybe i didn't make that clear...my bad.

but ever since i put that royal purple in there it seems to pick up alot better...from like a 10-20 mph roll it'll just spin..it never did that before.

be sure your tire pressures are equal. mustangs tend to squat to the side when torque is applied, what rear suspension mods do you have? check your shocks to make sure they're not leaking. try unbolting your quadshocks to see if that changes it.

Most roads are crowned as well. On a regular road your car will always slide the ass end to the right.

The rear end sliding to the right is common on any car with a traction lock, spool or other type of posi or locked rear end. There are a few reasons for this. The torque and spinning of the tires in a forward direction is one reason and another is all roads are sloped to promote drainage so the vehicle will have a natural tendency to "slide down hill". The sway bar and strut tower brace have nothing to do with it.
