Higher RPMS

Sorry for all the threads...Just trying to get to know the 5.0 a little more. Anyway, I am noticing that my car is not really happy cruising. This damn things is really aggressive. The first 3 gears are interesting....Its like when you go into gear, if you are not really getting on it, it starts revving and wants to go to the next gear. Cant really cruise in the first 3 gears. Not really bothering me but Curious...I am thinking more is done to that car then he told me. It is really aggressive. I know the timing is advance a little but damn.

Do you think its cammed? Is there a way to tell?
Heads?

I have ridden in a friends 5.0 and it wasnt half as aggressive as this is. thanks again.

It does have a very lopey idle....Almost like it wants to cut off but it never does and the RPMs stay constant. There are just shorties and some flow dumps up there. But very lopey. It would be great if it was a freak. LOL.

Na, clutch is fine...It Idles lopey in neutral with the Parking break up. I am going to try and record it so you can hear it. But when I get going out of first, its only happy if I get on it. I am beginning to assume that there is more work done to the car then I was told or its a factory freak.

Now one thing I do remember is that the guy I got it from, had it for 5 years and only drove it a couple times. He had back problems and it would bother him when he drove it and also because it was lowered. He isnt the one who put the mods on the car. it was the guy before him. he only changed out the clutch and some tires I believe. He may have put the headers on.

Really...OK...I will test her out this evening. If its dry by the time I get home. SO that is a good way to test it. If it isnt cammed what should it do?

Also I will put together a short vid so you can check it out.

What size throttle body does it have? Too big tb would make slow cruising more difficult.

There are many things that can cause the motor to act as you decribe. The wrong cam for your application is one of them but there are many more. The main question is, is it causing you a problem? If not then don't look any further. To figure out what cam it has you have to tear into the motor. If it's not fast enough for you then start planning your upgrades and looking at condition of the shortblock by doing a leak down test.
