Boss or Dart Block for build up.
Looking to build up a bulletproof engine. Boss or dart and why.
I am leaning towards the Boss for many reasons including price, but am getting conflicting specs. The early specs state you had to use the more expensive linked lifters, the new specs state that the block is now machined to receive the factory roller lifters w the spider retainer. For me this is the deal breaker either way. The cost of the linked lifters offset the price diff between the 2 blocks. Any input?

The nominal cost difference of lifters shouldn't be a deciding factor on your block choice.
Unless you seriously plan to make more than 1200 hp...the Boss block will be more than enough.

Boss is fine just dont over 3.250 on the crank with a shelf piston with minimal skirt taper or it will tear up the skirts

"Justincredible write: The nominal cost difference of lifters shouldn't be a deciding factor on your block choice."
Every thing else being equal the friggin linked lifters are 450-600$! I have found a cheap brand for around 300$, but that does make a big difference in deciding blocks. Does anyone on here have a boss block, and did you have to use link bar lifters? My build up would be a small CI 331 single turbo for street/track duty 700+ HP.

I have built several, dont need a link bar lifter, can use dogbone, stock style lifters.
