well i got to talking with a guy at work and hes got a buddy who is trying to sale a 351W. $500 takes it home and it came out of an AOD. I was thinking about buying it but would will it be worth for me to buy? How hard is it to swap from a 302 to 351.

It's not hard to swap, but not worth the effot unless you are going
to do a major head, cam and intake swap. They are cheap cause they come out of old vans and trucks.

Seen short blocks for $50 to $100. I can get a fully rebuilt 351w out of a '69 mustang for $400. The older, the stronger. BUT anything '94 or newer is a roller block.

a guy gave me this motor, it's an early 70s block standard bore to boot. i was buying some interior pieces and we got to talking and he was cleaning out his garage and he says " want a 351 " i was like uuuhhhh i've got a few, he's like " it's free " i'm like let's load er up !! i bought a complete roller 351 for $ 300 bucks ( sold the heads for 300 so that was free too ) .
unless you are content with a bolt on mustang make the move to the 351. you'll be better off in the long run.
