car/rim color combo

Currently my car is silver with the '95 cobra R silver rims. I need to replace the hatch and maybe the hood, and when I do this I'd like to repaint the car. Would like to keep the rims the same color, but what looks good with silver rims? I know people will say "its your preferance". I thought canary yellow with black rims with polished lip would look good, but i'd change the rims then rather than do all that work to them. Lets see some '80s and early '90s style pictures.

I liked your idea. But I myself would go for a dark blue with some black rims w/ a chrome lip

That was one of my other idea's. Dark blue, black/gun metal rims with polished lip. That is a beautiful looking car too. any larger photo?

Yea that would look great. And maybe Mach 1 or FR500 wheels.

Or you could paint the Cobra R rims black, and also hatch, roof, hood and top of the fenders black, and leave rest of it silver. So that everything from window line up would be black.

ah the polished rim is played out now ... with the silver rims dark would generally look best - a midnight blue or a deep cherry red or something?
