look into the trick flow valve spring upgrade for the cast iron heads..they are like $133.95..and supposed to handle the lift of anything upto .542" lift..like the tfs stage II...and something like .600" lift for the twisted wedges...plus comes with the retainers, keepers, shims etc...

So i got my heads Xmas eve, and the casting #'s are F3ZE AA and off an explorer. What is the combustion chamber size of these heads.

How much would i need to have these milled to get them to give me a 9.5:1 compression ratio.

what else could i use on this set up, I also will be be porting out the exhuast runners for better flow.

be real careful and if it doesnt take you at least an hour on each port your not doing it right. get an old header gasket and spray paint dont go any bigger then the outline and be carefun on the lip cause the water ports arnt that deep down on that heads.. i have ported a set of gt40's and steel heads suck ballz to port.

IMO it's not worth porting the exhaust side, especially on heads that are so limited in terms of intake flow. Spend the time instead blending the short side radius on the intake and smoothing out the pockets.

What bits did you use to do your porting?

Carbides. Sanding rolls, and cross buffs from Standard Abrasives.
