intake manifold gasket or head gasket?


just to clear this up... my mustang is leaking coolent out the back of the engine ( firewall side ) but i cant see where at, im guessing its the back of the intake manifold... is there a way for coolent to leak out of head gaskets...? ( lower head gaskets ) thanks let me know.

sure, it's possible it could be a head gasket, intake gasket but also a freeze plug in the back of the cylinder head could have rotted-out....if you cant "pin-point" the leak, goto a auto parts store and get a bottle of Coolant System Dye, add to the coolant system and drive for a day...the high-vis green dye should highlite the leaking area, if you still can't sea wth the naked eye, hit the engine wth a Black Lite....

yeah i mean i reved it up a little and i mean i know the gasket because i replaced one in my notch back but how a head gasket... im getting paranoid now

could be the intake mani gasket fosho

without looking I would 1st check the tube thats on the left side of the engine used to running coolant thur the T/B

Had a freeze plug go out on my head also......can trick you and make you think you have a gasket leak
