Keep blowing fuses

Whenever I replace the fuse for my turn signals the fuse blows within a minute of starting the car. Now today I was listening to my radio and the fuse blew. I replaced it twice and the fuses keep blowing right when i start my car. Whats wrong?

Look up what components are on that fuse.It is most likely is Key on hot fuse.Easy way is to wire in a good bulb to the fuse slot and it will lite up when short to ground accurs.when lit with key on unplug each componet to narrow down the circuit at fault.May have bad componet or short to ground chafe.Evan try wiggle harness when bulb goes out your on the right path.hopefully radio wire exsposed or short in mutifuntion switch (turn singnal sw) look for over heated connectors GOOD LUCK

I have always used a blade type circuit breaker that matched the fuse's amperage. Use it like a resetting fuse, or even find one with a reset push button. First thing to look for is where the harness or wiring comes close to any metal, and definitely look for rub spots in the insulation.

How hard would it be to replace the in-dash harness? I think I would rather go that route..

I'm putting the car up for sale after christmas if I can't fix it with the money I get. I want to get a newer mustang that isn't such a can of worms.. I saw a 95 gt bone stock with a magnaflow catback and sportlines I might get for 4k.

What amperage fuses are you guys using for fuse 11, or the radio fuse. Mine had a 7.5 but it says on the back of the fuse box cover that it needs a 15.

yea id agree that its just a short to the ground or a loose wire some were. dont go replacing the whole harness to fix a fuse thats the hard route. just look up a diagram and trace wires related to your turn signals and make sure everything is tight and that none of the plastic casing has melted off of the wires and causeing your short

could I just put electrical tape over the wire if the outer plastic on the wire has come off? Because I was checking wires for my radio and the ground looks fine but a yellow wire was some of the plastic gone and I think it might be getting grounded out on the metal behind the radio.

I honestly would rather have the radio working. I've been without blinkers for a few months.

Ok, I'm gonna be working on my car tomorrow. I'm at my mom's house for the weekend and I left my car at my buddies house where I'm stayin at in Mesa. My question though is... where is the ground for the turn signals at? My brother said its the same as for the headlights on the radiator support but I kinda don't think that's true. Anyone know? I want to have turn signals finally lol

Just for thought, I kept blowing fuses for my driving lights and it turned out that the plastic boot covering the +dimmer light wire from my harness came off and was grounding on my radio chassis that was the prob.
