My power seat snaped on my 94 today.. What are my options to replace it?

What seats will fit my 94? Not sure which years will fit and what all I need to buy? How hard are they to put in? The rear left driver side clamp just snaped with little stress on it.

It was the rear left clamp that anchors it to the power cage assembly which is bolted to the car so my entire sear rocks freely

Do I need to buy a new frame with those year power seats or will mine fit right on the old frame part that bolts to the car? How hard is it to take the old seat off and mount a new one? Where can I get a new seat?

also was considering an after market race seat that is more comfortable than stock. I dont want to spend more $$ than I have to tho.

4 bolts on the floor takes the seat out. 94-04 will go right back there. as for power, if you car isnt power seats you will have some electrical work on your hands if you get power seats

You can prolly find one in a junkyard.

from the way you seem to be describing it, i would say no it isnt very safe.

I found out my power cage is prob done and they want 400 for a cage and 200 for the seat so im thinking just go with after market non power. Any ideas? I want something more comfortable than stock and im tall 6'3 215. I found one from jegs and some on ebay but not sure what to get and how much someone will cahrge me to install. Also found these on ebay

eBay Motors: 1994-1998 FORD MUSTANG PAIR RACING SEATS 1995 1996 1997 (item 370123503898 end time Dec-06-08 17:59:08 PST)

I have a black and tan interior with tan seats but im sure black seats will mix in if I get both. Im worried that if I buy 2, they will be as exspensive as when I put in new head lights

eBay Motors: 79-04 mustang red Ractive seats/cobra LX, GT (item 330290802779 end time Dec-07-08 10:30:32 PST)

actually thats not 100% true, 1994 thru 1998 is the same....
starting in 1999, thru 2004 the seat track frame is different as it's used to attach the seat belt buckle, where 1994 thru 1998 the buckle attaches to the trans tunnel and iirc the elecrtical connection is different too...

now to the op, you can also go-to a manual seat track asbly if you dont want to stay wth a pwr seat, and again ALL 1994 thru 1998 Mustang manual tracks are the same, as it is wth the power one....now if you want an oem new pwr seat trc, lmk, I can help wth pricing

Dude the same shit happened to me like 6 months ago on the driver side, both the left side braces just broke, made it pretty funn though to turn left with the seat lifting up and me going towards the passenger, I just pulled the seats and welded them back and it was fine. I dont know how I broke them I weight like 160???

I dont have any welding skills and my seat is torn and pretty ugly anyways. It looks like I need a manual and if Im spending the money might as well go aftermarket. How much are these usually to install? Which ones are more comforatble than stock for a budget?
