Ignition problem

My 93 mustang lx has a wierd problem...Occassionally when I turn the key to start the car the oil light, check engine light, stereo doesn't come on, power windows don't work, ac doesn't work...Then when I turn the key back ever so slightly everything has power and is back to normal and I do notice that it is hard to turn the key to the off position...And it's not an every time thing it happens probably half the time I start the car....Anyone know what this might be?

I'd first suspect an issue with the ignition switch itself.

Sounds like the common fox body ignition switch issues. There was a recall on them at one point in the 90s. Chances are yours is bad.

I don't know if the recall is still in effect. Replacing the switch is fairly easy.
