Couple noob questoins


I'm looking at a 94 gt with a H/C/I package on it. Its got the stock MAF and injectors. Do i need to get those swapped out or can I leave them stock? And as of right now its untuned would I be able to get away with just a mail order chip or a handheld programmer? Is their any option besides a dyno tune? How much do dyno tunes cost? Also if I changed the gears how much would a shop charge to swap them out usually? thanks guys

prob needs injectors unless its a mild ass setup, hand held programmers are for obd2 cars aka 96+, dyno tune heres 475 at 2 diff places ive talked to, gears here in my 94 costed me 475 i think, that was new gears, bearings, and to rebuild the trac lock

Any of the HCI packages out there put you at or above 300hp which is beyond the stock injectors ability.. I believe the stock injector go static at around 290 something and that's if you want to roll the dice so 300 plus is begging for a real lean condition resulting in an engine rebuild

I'd say why spend 2 to 3k and cheap out on injectors and a maf? So yes you have to upgrade the injectors to at least 24lbers and a meter calibrated for the larger injectors... a tune could only help and if it's untuned with a top end kit with stock injectors then i'd have to get a compression test before purchasing.. just my .02 s
