Convertible motor mounts

I may be summarily kicked out because I'm here about a Fox Thunderbird rather than Mustang but this seemed like the place to come. I'm planning a 351W swap into my 83 in place of the 302. In of itself it wouldn't likely be hard but I want to top it with a Stealth manifold so I need to make some considerable clearance.

I've heard myth and rumor about the early 90s Mustang mounts, especially convertibles, that they lower the engine but I can't find an exact reference. I've noted Bossman351 saying he has a 351C in there and a big ass air cleaner with no issues under a stock 93 hood. Can anyone give me a good idea of how much the vert mounts lower the engine? I've seen pictures, they're definately a different design.

I have an 83 convertible Mustang (93 5.0 engine) and I put 93 convertible motor mounts on it, I believe it lowers it about 1/2", had to grind off an alignment tab on the mount as it didn't line up on the passengers side, drivers was okay. Probably due to it being the earlier Fox convertible.

It did create an interference problem with my long tube headers and the frame on the passenger side, Had to hammer abit on the tubes to clear.

The 351 sits higher due to the block so you may need this extra clearance, good luck.

Hmm. 1/2" probably won't be enough for my app. The solid mounts are good for 3/4" but I've heard they're no good for street use. Anyone use them?
