Heavy Clutch


When pressing in the clutch it feels pretty heavy when compared to other cars... what would cause this and is this normal ???

Well if its an aftermarket clutch, that could just be how it is. You could have a bad pressure plate, that can do the same thing. The throw-out-bearing can cause it too I think. I'm sure some others can correct me if I'm wrong.

You could also have a binding Clutch Cable also. You are right some of the Aftermarket clutches will have a stiffer pedal feel then a stock unit. The TO bearing will also make a little whirring if its starting to go out.

the tob wont make it stiff..make sure the cable is routed correctly..ive also heard of certain cables are just strait garbage..what cable do you have? i need a little more description when u press the pedal down...does it just feel heavy but moves freely?..does it feel different at different points(at the top, middle, or floor).

stock the mustangs clutches are naturally harder to push down than most cars. its possible that there is nothing wrong at all. and if you have a cobra it is even harder to push down than a GT (im just going off of the numerous mustangs ive driven in the past)
