Rear seat delete, Legal to remove rear seatbelts?

Just a quick question. Once a rear seat delete kit is installed, is it legal to remove the rear seat belts?

lol thats a good question..i really dont think its illegal due to there being no seats...as a matter of fact i was in a car goin to school and the back seat only had to belts and there were three of us in the back.. well we got pulled over in front of the school and the cop just made me get out and walk into school, it was right there so it really didnt matter..but nobody got a ticket for it..

I had my rear seat delete custom made. It's basically 9mm thick plywood covered in carpet. The seat belts are still in the car but they're hidden under the delete kit.

I think the law (lol, but I guess thats TN) is you have to have a seatbelt for every person in the car... I would say do it if no one is gonna be sitting on your delete at some point

I would think the law would vary state to state. In California, so long as there was never anyone back there, I don't think they could ticket you for it.
