Transmission question

I need to get a 6 speed transmission for my mustang. Does anyone know where is the best place to get one?

It has to be able to handle more than 1000hp at the rear wheels. I checked D&D performance, but they quoted me almost 7k for a T-56. Any chance I could get one cheaper than this?

Any help would be awesome.

^ 7K for a T-56? wow, you should be able to find one way cheaper than that. Search around. I know people are parting out cobras and sell the T-56's from them for maybe like 1k. Buy that, then build it. (if it even needs built) Those t-56's are can handle their power.

a 1000+hp capable t56 will be the viper spec. the cobra t56 will handle a lot, but not sure how long it will be able to hold that much power. you can buy a t56 and send it off to have built.

Congrats!

no, it will need a driveshaft for sure, i think a bellhousing as well..and depending on the input shaft , he might need a new pressure plate

Yah it is supposed to bolt right up with the right bellhousing, I will have to order a special driveshaft.

just out of curiosity what are you running for your transmission to have to handle 1000 HP? There is a guy at Click Click Racing that builds aod's and aode's to handle up to 1000 HP he sent me the parts to do mine but I am not running anywhere near 1000 HP.
Edit: just saw that you already got the trans. good luck hope it holds up for you I dont have any experience with that tranny so let me know how it works out and if it doesnt then check into an auto with the link I posted

I will be running over 1000hp at the wheels, that is why I needed a beefed up trans.

Your probably right, this tranny is supposed to be able to handle the power. I am going to have it looked through to see if it needs anything else done though. Either way I will not be running balls to the wall at the track, just enough to keep people admiring the tail lights.
