I would stroke it because you have the correct intake and 351 swap is great but it will be cheaper to stroke it

well what kind of power do u wanna make? it would be cheaper to stroke it.. but a 351 has more potential..u really dont have anything done to the motor u have so i would probably start the 351 build on the side..thats my opinion, also my plan if i keep this car

Why not just do a stock stroke 351?rebuild the 351.the durability of the 351 is far superior to the 302 stock for stock.A stroked 351 will require much larger heads 225cc range that are not emissions legal.A stock stroke 351 would need heads in the 185-200cc range.your 170cc
heads would be a little on the small side but are far better than stock.AFR 185s are emissions legal and flow very well too.

if you've got the money... just supercharge it! you've already got a good HCI set up, (assuming you've got all the components, TW heads, TFS1 cam, steet intake), and putting a vortech s-trip on there you would see way more gains then you would by stroking it IMO!!!

i dunno if i'd stroke a block with 180-200K miles on it...i mean the block is probably gotten weaker overtime and then you're talking about bore and stroke and stretching it out even further...

It all comes down to what you what kind of power you are looking to get, I would go through your engine and make sure it is still in good condition before you do anything drastic with it.

alright this is what all i have TF street heat C&L intake bbk thottle body and spacer. i also have zex 75 shot. dont use it much but, it has been dynoed and tuned. also have 30lb injectors and msd box. i heard that these blocks can take 450 hp to the rear wheels. i would like to get 400 to rwhp. what are some of the things that could go wrong with the bottom end. now alot of this is new to me. i know the basics.

if you stay in that power range you should be fine, but your weak link at that power will be the stock rod bolts. Put in some ARP bolts and you will be fine, you just have to make up your mind for sure how much power you want to make. I ran a vortec on my 94 GT from about 2k miles to 97k at 8 lbs of boost and ran the shit out of it and never had the first problem.
