Considering a supercharger.
hey guys ive been toying with the idea of a kenne bell 2.1L supercharger on my '95 5.0 and i need to know what additional things i will need to do to car for it to run correctly. i only want to run maybe between 6 and 8 pounds of boost. and will i be risking hurting my basically stock motor with the extra power im going to making or should it be okay?

just make sure you got good ignition and fuel components and you should be cool, not a must but to get the most from it, i'd make sure you've got headers and full exhaust, so the motor can breathe good.

you probably won't make as much power with 8 lbs out of a kenne bell as you would with 8 lbs on an s-trim, but if you want a KB, don't let anyone talk you out of it! The people at Kenne Bell are great at getting you set up with everything you need when you go to make a purchase from them. As stated, you will need a more effective fuel system... 255lph fuel pump with an in-line as well and 42# injectors is what I suggest. But I would get in contact with Kenne Bell, and they will hook you up.

like i said make sure you have quality ignition parts...msd ignition and good set of colder plugs and quality wires., last thing you want is the stock ignition to crap out on you while you're under boost or something.

NOT msd ignition... stick with replacement factory parts. msd is junk IMO.

cool i actually called kenne bell and they told me with 6 to 8lbs of boost that 36lb injectors and 255lph pump should be good and that i can keep the stock MAF as long as i get a tune. i think ill get the MAf anyway. i forgot to ask about the TB. but i already have a 70mm i think that might be ok.

Yeah since you've already got the 70 mm I woldnt bother to buy another one. The difference in your gains will prob be minimal.

The s-trim will give you top end power, where as the KB will turn your stang into a torque monster. Can`t go wrong with any of them..

you can probably get a mail order tune from Kenne Bell (that's what you're getting right? you doing the install yourself?) to get you by until you get a dyno tune from a good tuner. that can run you any where upwards of $400...
