Car RPM's Hanging between shifts

I thought my IAC was bad so i replaced it and it still has the problem. It jacks the RPM's up when I push in the clutch between shifts and i cant figure it out. Maybe my TPS? can anyone point me in the right direction? I thought Autozone could pull egine codes on our computers cuz the check engine comes on but they said they couldnt. I think the light is on because of whatever it is making my throttle hang up. Thanks for looking.

you may have a slight vacum leak, or you can adjust the throttle blade with th adjusting screw on the side of your TB..i had the same problem and i just cleaned the the throtlle out with TB cleaner and set the TB blade to idle the car around 700-800 RPM. Now the throttle dont semm to stick and the rpms drop normal. also change out all the upper plenum caskets.IAC,EGR,TBS,TB to PLENUM,and PLENUM to intake manifold also check for dead spots in you TBS sensor to make sure that it is difenatly not the problem( you can do this useing an OHM meter...i hope this helps

i know it sounds kinda dumb but have you checked the throttle return spring? my car was doing the same thing and it was just my fault when i changed the throttle body i forgot to hook the spring back up.

Do a search over on Corral.net, I did a write up on a few threads about how I fixed the problem you are having... In short, you need an idle air restrictor plate ($15) or listen to all the people who think getting a tune will fix life's problems. If you don't have an account on corral I'll find it and post it here.

Edit, I just found it and here's the link: hanging rpms between shifts - Corral Forums
I did end up buying one on eBay which was stainless steel, but I also made one out of metal duct work.

I posted in other threads on Corral which have further info, just do a search.
