1994 Cobra fuel pump limitations?

I was wondering how much power a stock 94' cobra fuel pump will support?

I think they are 155gph? Or is it lph?

I'm going to be throwing a 125 shot of nitrous on the 351, and am wondering if the stock fuel pump will support it.

Thanks!

it's a wet kit, by the way.

Your stock cobra pump isn't working as good now 15 yrs later as it did back in '94. That being said just get yourself a 255lph pump and call it done. You will see a HUGE difference in the way your car runs after the swap. I can promise you that. I bought my FP for 100 bucks.

I'm not sure on the exact numbers it will support. There are many guys with blown applications running the same pump so I think it's a safe bet to say you're okay. I think you have to be more concerned with your injector's supporting it. What injectors are you running? FYI, most of the fuel pumps out there are made by Walbro so don't pay extra for a trick flow, bbk, holley etc. When you open up the box it's still going to be a Walbro. Summit lists them for 119.00 You might want to check out Arts Performance and see if he can get you one for around 99.00 shipped. Great guy to deal with BTW!

not trying to steal the thread but if he were to get a 255 would he need bigger injectors too if he doesnt have them already? or would the stockers be ok?

I have 24# injectors, which might be too small for my 5.8, but doesn't matter for the nitrous kit since it is a wet kit.

To answer your question, no, you don't need different injectors when you swap pumps.

I swapped to a 255lph pump and still have the stock injectors... the fuel pump made a HUGE difference, as flamedstang95 said...

I guarantee you're starving your motor with that stock pump. It's totally worth it to swap out the pump. Oh and while you're in there, its a good time to put a new fill neck gasket in. You can only get them at ford for about $40. Guarantee yours will be leaking once you pull the tank out.

What kind of difference would I expect you say huge but what exactly would it do? In all of the reciepts the previous owner of my car gave me there is one for a new fuel pump but there is no part number or description so I guess I will email him and see if he had a stock one put in. Unless there is an easy way to tell

its not really a noticable difference if you're car is stock or mostly stock with stock injectors, I just put a Walbro 255lph in my car, not a real noticable difference except the car starts alot easier, thats about all i've noticed really. But you have the peace of mind knowing that if you ever need to step up the injectors to support the power that the pump will be solid.

You are probably at the max duty cycle on those injectors. +1 on the filler neck gasket as well.

Thanks for the info, but does anybody know the limitations of the 255lph pump? Any good links for fuel pump limits?

If I ever get unbanned from Web Page Re-director I can find the answer for you. You might want to register over there and check out the 94/95 tech. I can't find the exact #'s.
