Clutch
I have a heavy duty Ford Racing Clutch, and its supposely new, it seems to be slipping a little mostly in 3rd thru 5th gear, just when I first hit the gear, are the clutches hydrolic if so it may need blead. Any suggestions. Or there any adjustments I can make.

no they aren't hydraulic clutches in these cars... check that your cable is not adjusted too tight. It may be possible that the cable is pulled too tight and is not allowing your clutch to engage fully. def get that checked out soon before you ruin that clutch!

Have you adjusted the clutch by pushing the clutch pedal in and out? Alot of times after a new clutch is put in it eventually will stretch the stock cable. My suggestion would be to get yourself a steeda double hook quadrant, and firewall adjuster. If you need a new cable don't go to Ford and spend 100+ bucks. You can order a clutch fork kit from summit and it comes with a genuine ford cable...all for around 50-60 bucks.

I got under the dash (which will break your neck) and tried to do that adjustment where you pull the clutch back for normal use and then you click it up another notch but I couldnt get it to stay if I was doing it right.

The guy might have lied to me about it being a new clutch, it seems in 2nd -5th when you change gears and get on it a little it takes a couple of secounds for it to pick up, or is this a tranny problem. I just changed tranny fluid looked good. How do you know when your clutch is going bad I've never owned a car long enought to experience that. Kinda fells like if you hit the 3rd gear and punched the gas you were spinnig tires but its not.

Yeahs that sounds like a slipping clutch to me. Do like they said and fix what you can the more the better. What mods are you thinking about doing?

tranny is easy to get out once the exhaust is out of the way. Did you machine the flywheel when you installed the clutch? Put a center force dual friction in it. That clutch has 85% more clamping force than stock and has less pedal effort than stock. I have one in my 650rwhp turbo stang.

I believe the King Cobra is the closest to OE feel. I had one in one of my GT's and it wasn't too heavy. You should look into a lighter flywheel while your in there anyway.

it all depends on your driving habbits, are you an experienced driver? i read that ppl like to mix and mach diff parts to best suit their needs, but i think that cost more.

i've got a king cobra clutch (well, to the best of my knowledge that's what it is) and I can't stand it. it's really heavy and really doesn't grab all that great. but maybe it's still the stocker in there and its slipping and my cable is just rubbing somewhere and thats why its stiff. i'm not 100% sure...
