let me know what ya'll think!!!
i baught a set of gt40p heads and i can't wait for them to come in. i need to get some work done to them tho. i'm really excited. i know they're not afr's or trick flow or anything, but i'm not trying to make crazy horse power. i know they're a good solid head and hopefully i can net close to if not get to the 300rwhp mark with them... they only cost about $310 including shipping. heres a list of my mods, let me know if i'll make some decent power with them...
70mm t/b pro 5.0 shifter (going on soon) gt40p heads (coming) march u/d pullies sub frames msd distributor cap king cobra clutch cai edel brock upper and lower intake 75 shot no2 off road x pipe frpp shorty headers 3.73 gears (thinking about going to 3.90's) smog pump delete lower control arms 19# injectors advanced timing so far i have 224 to the wheels and around 278lb ft to the wheel n/a and 281 and 365lb ft to the wheel on the bottle. next to get is a MAF (don't know which size to get tho) and obviously upgrade the injectors prolly to 30#. if theres anything else i'm forgeting that i should get let me know!! (s/c or t/c are for a way later date.lol)

If you still have the stock cam I'd say you'll end up with about 275-280rwhp using the GT40P's.

i have a cam, but i'm not sure what kind or brand, it was on there when i baught the car. only reason i could tell is the car lopes great after i put on the new exhaust on.lol. i might change to an E or B cam, but i'm not sure. yes, i know they're are better cams out there, but again, i'm just goin for some good gains for cheap. (cheap and power don't go togehter.lol.)
ps. white thunder, what did you mean i don't have many power mods??? what other "power mods can i get"??

if the car is loping nice, you probably have an E-cam. It's pretty much what people put in there, and you're right it's not the best cam - I would never buy one. But if you do the 1.7rr's, I'll bet if you do have an e-cam you will be damn close to 300rwhp. Probably over 290. Let me know if you have any questions for the swap... I just did mine last October. Good luck!!

hey thanks wild will!! yea, u kinda inspired me to get the gt40p's.lol. i saw in another post that they were having a challenge to get into the 300rwhp mark.lol. i don't know what cam i have, but is there a way to check to see what kind it is while i have the heads off?? also, would port and polishing my upper and lower intakes make anymore power??? also, i just read in modified mustang, there is a fox mustang with a 347 and it had a shaker hood from banshee performance, i was hoping it would fit a 95.lol.
if anyone has a link to banshee performance or has anymore info, i'd greatly appreciate it!!!

The only way to see what cam you have is if you pull the cam out and get the number off of it. That is wayyyy to much work for what its worth - don't pull your cam out unless you're planning on putting a new one in IMO. Oh and getting anything ported will give you hp!

The real challenge would be to get 300rwhp with factory iron heads (E7, GT40, or GT40P). It's very easy to reach that figure with aftermarket aluminium heads if you have a T5 tranny. If you have an auto, anything over 260rwhp would be very respectable.

Porting the lower might get you close and porting the heads closer still. With the cam you have (obviously not stock) you might just scrape 300rwhp.

30 is over kill on your injectors. You may want to throw a set of 24's and a fuel pump with your no2....LOL....I am guessing thats kinda like N20

i already have an upgraded 255lph fuel pump and a fuel pressure regulator. 30#'s would be over kill huh?? yea, the guys at the shop i go to said get 24#'s as well, i was going to get them off an 05+ GT and FRPP sells an adapter for our cars i think... i might just go the 24# route.

it would save you a lot of money and a lot of hassle to just find a set of reman'd 24#'s.

I would. Cause the other route not only are you getting used injectors, but you are having to use an adaptor which I try to stay away from adapting anything. It means to make something work thats not really supposed to.
