rear suspension questions


does any know or has any1 every done a 03 rear irs swap n2 a 94 mustang? since they are both sn95 bodies would it be that difficult?

i'm pretty sure you can but i have to ask why ?

yes you can do it. if you are looking at doing road racing it's an excellent idea to do the swap.

yeah the reason is to make a better road race car! i am thinking since they r both sn-95s it shouldnt be much of a problem just wanted to see if any1 has done it b4

Yes it's possible and it has been done. Good for road racing but the IRS adds about 75lb of extra weight. That's why the 03 Cobra has a weight distribution closer to 50/50 than any other SN95 Stang.

u know u can make a solid axle a road race car jus as easy..there was a huge dilemma on here about it a while bac..but solid axles can handle jus as good

^^ that may be true, but as Bullitt said, handling is all about weight distribution and it is really hard to get an sn95 close to 50/50 front/rear weight balance. usually about the closest you can get them is 54/46... and IRS definitely helps with that weight distribution problem.

You could just keep the solid axle and stick a large sack of cement in the trunk to even up the weight distribution.
