new cam for a 351w

looking at putting a big mutha thumper cam in my 351w block bored 60 over. its a .552 intake lift with a .538 exhaust lift. its rpm range is 2,500 to 6,200. is this cam suiteable for a dedicated drag car looking to run in the low sixes in the 8th mile spraying no more than a 200hp shot of nitrous?

That is a baby cam, not a "big mutha thumper". You are never going to run low 6s if you keep throwing random parts together.

Making sure you buy your parts from one company is not going to make you fast. I'd be looking at a solid roller as well, not a hydraulic roller. A posted a link in your other thread that gives you the information parts that will make you the horsepower you need for your goals. You can take that advice and make some horsepower or you can just throw a bunch of parts together and hope for the best....

Chassis set up is going to be another topic of discussion. The car is much more important than the horsepower.

You are going to need a 10 point roll cage, thru floor frame connectors, good shocks, struts, upper and lower control arms, etc. The rear axle will need to be jigged and welded as well.

Superior 31 spline axles are not a wise choice for a 9 second 1/4 mile car (which is what you will have with a low 6 second 1/8 mile). You are going to need a 33-35 spline axle from a good company like Strange, Mark Williams or Moser.

A roll cage is only as good as the person that installs it.
