In need of some advise!


ok i have a 95 gt 5.0 when i start it from cold.. like over night it backfires a bit and needs a min to warm up... and sometimes if i dont give it gas when i start it.. it will die.. but when i do give it some gas it feels sluggish

How well does the engine start and run when it's warm?

runs fine when its warmed up just it idles pretty low i think.. like 850rpms

An 850rpm idle is normal. It sounds to me like your engine is running lean during the warm-up phase and the problem would suggest that one of the temp. sensors (ECT or ACT) is grounded out (short in wiring). You can easily test them with a digital multimeter and these links will help you:

Ford Fuel Injection » Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECT)
Ford Fuel Injection » Air Charge Temperature (ACT)
