Black Headlight Housing

So I tinted my tails. Now I've got this idea about my headlights. I've head of people sticking them in the oven and heating the light to pull apart the assembly. Basically allowing access to the inside of the light. I want to get rid of the chrome, and paint it black on the inside. Has anyone ever attempted this? Will the black allow the light to shine right?

I've seen some people do it with lexus, subaru, and headlights like that. I may give it a shot, and do a writeup

Obviously it's gonna depend on the black you use.

There's no way around losing some brightness from doing this, but I have seen aftermarket lights that were a reflective black backing instead of the chrome. Don't know if they're DOT approved or not, though.

Be sure not to over do it in the oven or you'll end up buying new ones anyway

Or you could tint them yourself... just saying.

I have black inside corners and they don't reflect well enough. I'm always stuck in turning lanes at night cause the light don't recognize my blinker. My blinker on shoots light sideways cause thats the way the light bulb points. Your brightness is probably going to drop by 50%

some have sensors for motion or weight on pavement. light flashing would be a better way than motion to tell if a car wanted to turn so why not?
