Compatibility question
So, I'm in the midst of rebuilding my motor and got a couple of questions. Was thinking about a stroker, but decided against it because, hell I just can't afford it right now. But I do have a vortech charger making ~8lbs so I wanna go forged bottom. I understand the 87-93's had forged pistons, I'm wondering will all my 94 brackets bolt up to the older blocks?

The block itself is the weakest part of a stock short block and the stock crank/rods/pistons will spin safely to 6500rpm, so it's a pointless exercise putting forged components inside a stock block. If you want a forged bottom end, put those components inside a stronger aftermarket block.
I think you'd be safe with a Vortech 8psi blower on a stock 302 short block as long as it's properly tuned and you don't go above 6000rpm.

So that being said, I can just find a used short block from a 94-95 and should be safe?
