idle problems

i have a 94 gt with bbk cai and throttle body, trick flow street heat upper motor kit, headers, zex nitrous, sct chip (which has been tuned), pulley kit, smog delete, flow master dumps, 255lp fuel pump and 30lb injectors, 90mm maf, msd ignition and a 6al box. all this has been tuned. i can not find a vaccum leak and i have cleaned the throttle boby. what happens is that it stalls in reverse and while i am driving then engage the clutch and let off the gas the rpms stay 2000 until i come to a complete stop (i mean a complete stop) then they go down to 1100. then while it sits and idles it will jump up and down. this has been going on for a while (probable close to a year). i am ready to drive it off a cliff. someone please help me

Sounds like your TPS is bad or needs adjustment. I just recently learned about this whole deal about how the tps can be adjusted with a volt meter. We worked on a buddy's car and it had the same problem with up/down idle and turning off in reverse and he had a tech adjust it and now runs perfect. We replaced his old one cause it was broken.

Btw's I think your injectors might be too much for your setup but I'm no mechanic so maybe someone who knows for sure can chime in.

I was told for best results, under 1.00. Like .98 is ideal.

I'm not sure. What I do know is you use a voltmeter to messure the current or output or whatever of the wires going into the tps and to adjust it you can actually turn the tps one way or another while messuring the volts and set it to what you want and then screw it down.

sn95's are notorious for idle surge problems. i think they make some sort of IAC bypass or something that will generally fix this problem. do some research around the internet and you will find the fix, this certainly isnt an odd probblem for us 94 95's
