Tall Valve Covers Needed???

Have a question for you guys .. I'm putting on a set of GT40 P heads and a set of pedestal mount 1.7 roller rockers on my 95 GT and was needing to know if I need to install taller valve covers with this setup?? Also will the taller valve covers be an issue if used ?? Thanx in advance..
Tom

The stock valve covers should work fine.

You could just spruce up your existing valve covers with a custom paint job.

If it is anything like my 87 5.0 that i put a set of Edlebrock heads on with 1.7 RR you factory valve cover wont clear it. I had to by a taller valve cover and a intake spacer.

I just built my 347 stroker and if using roller rockers you will definitely need taller valve covers to clear them. Problem with the sn95 body style is that with bigger valve covers you then have clearance issues with your intake and anything atttached ie:throttle body. Then you will have to worry about your intake not clearing your stock upper strut tower brace and possibly even your hood

I used to run factory valve cover's on my motor with roller rockers. Just had to remove the oil splash baffle thing. Your motor with Ford heads, no different. Can't speak for aftermarket heads.

It depends on the type of rockers you have installed. Some stud-mount rockers are bigger than the Cobra pedestal-mount units and WILL need taller valve covers to clear them.
With taller valve covers, you could run into another issue and that is whether the intake elbow will clear the passenger side cover. If not, you'll need an upper-to-lower intake spacer and then you could run into yet another issue and that's hood clearance from the upper intake. It could go on and on.

I ran 1.7s with aftermarket covers but they were damn near stock height so you should be fine.

Yes it has gone on and on !!! I bought taller valve covers as the roller rockers hit on the stock covers even with the baffles removed ... Then had problems witht the intake hitting the valve covers.. Bought a 1" spacer to have the intake clear the covers and now the intake hits on the hood... Bought a hood scoop to put on now.. Also having problems witht the Trickflow elbow hitting on the valve covers.. Covers are approx. 4" tall.. Anyone have any ideas ??? Maybe another set of shorter valve covers to clear the roller rockers ??

This is getting frustrating !!!
