Anyone?

Can anyone tell me whats going on here? I just recently swapped my 3.8 to a 5.0 in my 95 mustang. The car runs strong, only 30k miles on it. The problem I'm having is that the car idles in park and neutral at 1k. When I put it in reverse, drive, or either of the 2 low gears it drops in the idle speed to between 500 and 1k, staying closer to 500. What is causing this?
