Hello

Whats up people. New to the site. New to Mustangs. Just bought a 94 GT with a 5.0 cobra motor in it. Has intake, and msd blaster and exhaust that only goes half way under the car before the muffler. Not all the way to the back. I always had boosted 4 bangers. This car is kinda nuts. But yeah i'm not sure the car has any other mods. Damn i'm so lost when it comes to this stang.

Welcome to the site Dirty Biscuits. You're in the right place if you're contemplating further mods to your ride 'cause most of us are incurably infected with mod fever and we're very good at helping people spend their money.

Well it DOES have gears. That is for sure. Well honestly 5th gear is not going to yield you any real "pull" in general.

Differential Gear Ratio Calculator

^ check your gear ratio.

Mind you this is a rough estimate. The only way to be 100% sure is to pull the rear differential cover and count the teeth on the ring and pinion and divide the 2.

you dont have to pull the cover to check your gear ratio, jack rear of car, so wheels can turn, make a index mark on the drive shaft, make a mark on tire, count how many times the driveshaft turns around-to make the tire turn 1 reveloution, if the driveshaft turns 3 3/4 for the tire to turn 1 reveloution-you have 3:73, if driveshaft turns about 2 3/4 for the tire to turn 1 reveloution- you have 2:73, little pass 3 turns of driveshaft-3:55, little pass 4 turns-4:10, I use to pull used gears at boneyard, sometimes id tags were missing. This method has always worked for me and saves alot of time. If you do pull the cover, just divide the pinion into the ring gear. ei: 10 teeth on pinion and 41 teeth on ring gear= 41 divided by 10= 4:10

then if you have 3.73's you go to your local Chrysler/Jeep dealer and buy yourself an $8.00 speedo gear and your good to go... i have the part number at home ill post it this afternoon unless someone beats me to it... but that will bring your speedo in a lottttttttt closer than it is now
