trying to get low 12s

hi every one. i have a 94 mustang gt with 3.73s, king cobra clutch, cai, and pullys. i have run a 15.9 with this set up. i live in colorado so everyone runs a sec slower than at sea level. but to get to the point, i would like to get into the 12s. and i know there is tons of ways to do that. i was thinking of running nos. how much can i run with a stock motor? and what can i do to run more? should i change the gears to 4.10s? i would also like to put a cam in it. what would be best for what i am trying to do? it does have to be emissions freindly. thanks for the help. cj

ok id say your atleast a second and a half slow because im at sea level and i ran a 14.5 with a stock motor, stock rear gears, and the only mod was an O/R H-pipe and SLP LM1 catback. so id say go to the track and practice practice practice your method and launch. also id say you will have to go with either FI or nitrous to get into the 12s at your elevation but before you go that far id do more bolt ons to get as fast as you can without the nitrous of FI. start with exhaust, go with some nice long tubes, O/R(If legal in your state) H or X pipe, and the catback of your choice. then go ahead with an HCI there are many different options. then once you have done all the bolt ons then id look at your time and see how much boost or nitrous you would need to get to your target range safely

well for some reason my car is slower than the other mustangs around here. i forgot to say it has flowmaters and a stock h pipe and headers. it is also timed to 14. i have not ran it with the timing at 14 yet so. i am going to put full bplt ons before the nos.

Ive seen a few 200hp single stage set-ups with fordged pistons stay together, 150 would be the max I would run on hyperetic pistons, this is stock in our sn95, 5.0

It'll be a futile exercise trying to aim for low 12's at a 5280ft elevation without a power adder. Bolt-ons won't get you there so the quickest route is forced induction.

First, get ride of the pinched headers and the h pipe.Make sure the headers are BBK or MAC longtube headers because they have good fitmit and clear preety much any aftermarket heads. If you want a cheap topend, get the Cobra upper/lower or the GT40 upper/lower with some GT40P heads with a PP or BBK 70 MM TB and a E303 cam or if you want a cam thats a little more aggressive,B303.Then see what you are from there. You should be well into 13's wth that mentioned above, maybe mid 13's with the driver mod and 12's maybe with some slicks and the driver mod lolz. Then 100 shot and your deffently int 12's,it wouldnt supprise me if you went low 12's to high 11's..

quick cheap way for 12,s
get some gt40.ps explorer intake. do someminor port work modifications(can be done at home by anyone with mechnical experience) some drag radials some decent rear upper and lower control arms take out your back seat passenger seat spare tire. i ran 12,s like this 12,47 to be exact at 107mph
had pullies mac h pipe mac short headers as well

yes that would be a quick way to the 12s at sea level but at his elevation he would be luck to break into the 14s with only those mods
