depending if their 3/8 stud or 7/16 stud, 270-320 bux new, 150 doesnt sound bad, if that includes shipping, the only thing that would concern me, make sure the trunion bearings(the big bearing the stud goes thru) doesnt have any play in it, and rolls smooth, and good visual check on the body of rocker, you should be ok, nice birthday present!

make sure hes not running stock heads as they wont have the studs to mount the rrs on and will cost more to modify then buying after market heads

you cant run rr on stock head without pulling the heads and sending them to a machine shop cheaper to buy after market heads already setup with adjustable valve train

Why not?I thought you can just bolt them up and thats it?When i did my headgasket job on the V6 Mustang (pushrod) All i did was bolt the head up,then put the pushrods in and bolted the stock rockers back on.Can you explain it,im a little confused..

if hes running stock heads, you will need pedestal mount roller rockers, not stud mount, they come with rockers, pedestals, bolts- no machining required
