Leaking Water Pump?

I recently purchased a 1995 GT with the 302. I have some coolant leaking and was hoping someone could guide me on where to look. I dont think it is the thermostat or its housing as they are both dry. The coolant is sitting behind the water pump on the timing chain cover after the car is shut down. I thought it might be the water pump but after looking at the water pump gasket it is dry. The timing chain gasket is wet. Could just be coolant spraying on the gasket? Was going to replace the water pump but want to try and make sure that is the problem.

The temp is steady at about 200 and does not flucuate.

Thanks in advance!

And I am glad to have found this board!

Cool

i would check all of the hoses to make sure they are not leaking. also check the weep hole on the waterpump when you have it running to see if that is where the water is coming from.

you had to replace the timing cover or the gasket on the timing cover?
