HELP!!!! car randomly won't start, then starts just fine....???
Hey guys, just got in my car to leave work last night, and I had a hard time starting it, but eventually it started and ran fine, I went home, let it sit half an hour, and it cranked just fine.
today I got up and went to leave for work, and had the same problem, i popped the hood, noticed the wire from my dizzy to the ignition was loose on the cap, so I popped that on tight, and it fired up after a few tries. After work, same issue, but now it won't start at all, and I don't want to kill the battery, so I left it, I know the PIP sensor in the dizzy is probably at fault, but is there anything else I can check before I pay for that replacement?? money is tight right now.........thanks in advance guys. |

coil is only 15 bucks... that went bad on mine and it would start right up with starter fluid but not on its own it would just crank away but never fire

A bad PIP sensor or a bad TFI module usually cause random stalling as well as hard starting. If the symptom is only the latter, a bad coil is more likely.

Good. Hope the new fuel pump has cured the problem.

How long has it been since you gave the car a tune up consisting of new plugs, wires, and a coil?

lol probably, I just did the fuel filter like 2 weeks ago, so now the fuel system is good, i prob could do the coil, I was looking at it yesterday, it's a msd ignition, but its a little loose in the housing, and it looks pretty old, the car is starting fine now, but I guess I could replace it for peace of mind.

My 94 mustang won't start. But after sitting starts right up
I have a 1994 Mustang and after it has been running will not start. It is like the battery is dead. You can't unlock the doors, roll the windows down nothing works. After sitting for a bit it starts up. This time I had to have it jumped and it took about 10 minutes of charging to get it to start. The battery is brand new. What could it be?
