HUGE mistake...

Well my clutch went bad a month ago, and my dad and I dropped the transmission and replaced the clutch. Well ever since we did that, it started makin this awful sound everytime i would drive it. I am thinking it is because we didnt replace the pilot bearing. would that be the problem, and if so, would i have to drop the transmission again and replace it?

yeah if you don't get the Pilot bearing done you could cause premature failure with your T5.

Huh? No you don't. There's several ways to get the bearing out without resorting to a puller. Method I use is to put a bunch of grease in there, then smack it (the grease) with a punch. The grease pushes the bearing out, then you just wipe out the grease.

have you personally done it? Me spending 50 bucks renting a puller (and getting a full refund) equalled getting out my pilot bearing out in less time than it took to get on the creeper and get under the car. Do it right or end up like a ton of idiots who end up air chiseling it out
