you should check the belt size before buying. use a piece of string and measure the belt route.

and yes, two 5/8"-11x1" bolts. It is strongly suggested to use carb cleaner and a battery terminal bottle brush to clean the threads in the head before trying to insert the bolt.

I did that with a pair of old spark plugs. They fit perfectly. Just make sure you add thread sealant.

You'll need a belt that's about 82.7" long (6PK2100). I'm also going to remove my AC compressor 'cause it has an internal leak (worn seals).
i dont know how u could use a 82.7 belt . i just tried about 20 belts on mine ( i started at 82.7 ) ended up useing a 95 1/8 from oreily ..masterpro k060945----6k945 . im runing ac and no delete pulley

The 82.7" belt is for the smog pump AND AC delete. Here are my belt routing diagrams:

Its funny how specific that list if about belt sizes. because I myself run the alt, idler, P/S, WP, crank and tensioner... and my car uses a 80.5" belt

The quoted belt sizes assume stock pulleys and they're meant to be a guide. One problem is that many of us, including myself, run various combinations of underdrive pulleys so it's still down to the measuring with a piece of string method to find the correct length. Another problem is that there are slight variances in belt length between manufacturers even if the belt size is supposedly the same.
FWIW, I'm using a 79.5" belt (6PK2020) with the same AC/smog delete routing and the tensioner nearly bottoms out. I have an ASP crank pulley but the others are stock.

I used 9/16" bolts as per this guide... I had to run a tap through mine to get all of the carbon out before I could get the bolts in. I happened to have the engine out of the car, so it was pretty easy to do...

A great guide from Allfordmustangs.com in PDF format for the 94-95 5.0 Mustangs... its pretty much the same for the Foxes.

You're right; everywhere I search it says 5/8".

But now that I think about it, I used bolts I had in one of my junk boxes. After I cleaned the threads, I just tried bolts until I found some that fit, then put a few washers on them so they wouldn't bottom out.

Here's a pic that I took a few years ago when I was building my engine. These are the inserts needed to adapt the 5/8" hole down so that the alternator and power steering can bolt up. You know... since the heads are able to be used as a right or left head.

anyway...

Just FYI because I haven't seen it posted (unless I missed it), but if you're keeping your stock cats, be warned that you may have issues with them clogging after a while with no smog pump. The air injected into them from the smog pump encourages light-off in the cats. without the extra oxygen being pumped into the system, the cats will eventually clog. Depending on the current shape of your cats, this may take a while, or it might happen sooner than you want.

i just took off my airtube on the back of the heads sunday night. prolly one of the hardest things ive done on that car so far. If your car has a firewall clutch adjustment and A/C you might as well add another hour to this process driver side was the worst. and thank you "AdderMk2" for the bolt size's they worked great
