so you ripped out the mod motor and went with a pushrod? Since your running low compression save a couple more bucks and buy a blower!
EDIT- here goes one in your area V1 s-trim for $1200 http://orlando.craigslist.org/pts/1920189869.html ... Last edited by streetscraper1; September 1st, 2010 at 04:07 AM. |

Blower's a good idea but you'll need to save a lot more than $1000. For a grand, you could get a pair of higher-flowing heads instead.

i find blowers all day everyday for $1200-$1500, example in my first post! But if a grand is all you have then yes a good set of heads is a major upgrade!

Unless you can find a set used and have them machined.

Well The thing is,I have a turbokit that I bought for 1800,its a full Custome kit, no ebay shit lol.I would love to put it on but the fact is,I JUST got the car running and its been down for 7 months!!!!I want to enjoy it a little and get use to the power b4 I slap that one remember,I went from a 3.8 V6 with full bolt on's and 125shot to this..?Well I was driving the car today and I noticed that the head on the DS is leaking coolant!!!!! Either a blown headgasket or a freeze plug because I dont see any coolant lines there, so it looks like to me i will be doing heads. What heads are good for Nitrous/Turbo? I mean since im doing all this at one time,I would love to get a cam also and how much ON AVERAGE is a cam install if the heads and all are preety much off? Thanks for the replys guys,i just need a little bit of guidence..

You aren't going to be able to get much of a head for a grand new, your best bet would be to go on corral and look for a good set of used TF's, a few guys here have picked up some TF heads over there for 800-1000. You will probably need to add in a couple of hundred to take them to a machine shop and get them checked and cleaned up. As far as a cam goes you should wait on it until you decide if you are going to run the turbo or not, its going to play a major roll on your cam grind. Heads will probably be the best bet since they are the biggest bottle neck on your car.

What do you think about these heads...
*Great Deal*'79-'95 Edelbrock Performer Heads Also,If I were to use these heads,American Muscle said this.. Technical Notes. Hardened pushrods required (flat tappet only). Will not accept rail rockers. 289-302 V8s require Head Bolt Bushings #9680 and either Head Bolt Kit #8552 (7/16") or stock head bolts. Match with Edelbrock head gasket sets. Recommended spark plugs 14mm x 3/4" reach with flat gasket seat. I know about the Harden Pushrods but Honestly im a little new to this.Rail rockers and sparkplugs? flat gasket seat? Im sorry with all the questions,I just dont want to start this and then get stuck..
