Anyone swapped their 94-95 computer for a fox computer?

have major tuning issues...apparently these cars are known for this...found a computer from a 93 for $50...my tuner said this is probably my best bet to get it fixed..finally...and to avoid future issues when the super charger goes in.

Thoughts??? Anyone have first hand experience?

swapping out to a fox ECM is a bandaid fix to a simple problem.

I see nothing in your mods list that cannot be handled by the SN-95 ECM

suggestions? i either get a hanging idle, or it idles down too quickly and dies...myself and my shop have tried just about every thing we can think of..adjusted throttle body, TPS, IAC, SCT tune changes etc etc...no vacuum leaks that we can tell of...

your "shop" is clearly missing something. Either bring the car somewhere else that actually has a clue, or pick up a Moates Quarterhorse and tune it yourself.

My 11.25:1 347 stroker idles like it stock. I have actually had alot of people ask me why my car was idling so low.. And when I asked... you think 750 is low? they reply.. "How the hell? My car idles at 1100!"

Your tuner needs to set the TB airflow values, you need to ditch the C&L maf, and its recommended that they set your car to run in OL at low rpm. Tuners that dont know, have a bitch of a time tuning for LT headers. They actually do make the tuning process difficult.

i really appreciate your advice. your the 3rd person that told me to get rid of the C&L...i will suggest running open loop for idle and see what they say...I am with you though, i really didnt want to swap computers...

what do you have/suggest from your throttle body forward ie CAI, MAF?

Ok...so i have almost decided to go get a Moates and start tuning this turd myself...i read up on tons of shit last night and think i should be able to pick this up and get it right...

question is what happens to my SCT that i have? Do i completely remove and sell?

I have up to 7 programmable tunes for my sct, can i use this cable for the Moates and store different tunes?

What will the Maotes let me do that the SCT will not?

Thanks.

What tuning software do you suggest to use with the Moates? Most intuitive and user friendly...

I use the quarterhorse myself. Make sure you get a wideband or you REALLY wont be getting anything done.

Remove your SCT and try to sell it. You will likely end up trashing it.
