question about tuning my 95 gt

Has anyone had problem with getting a solid tune as i have had mine into my local tune shop three time soon to be four and it still runs like crap and this is a very well known shop came highly recommended on several mustang chat forums so im wondering if its just a fluke or if these cars are just hard to tune

my car is a 95 gt with
comp cam intake .544 lift 216 dur@.50 exhaust .555 lift 224 dur@ .50
30lbs injs
1.6 rr
90mm maf
jlt cia
mac equal length headders
eddlebrock e-street heads

Your injectors are way too big so I'll be surprised if your engine isn't running pig rich. I'm sure that your engine will run 100 times better if you change them for a set of 24lb'ers and change your MAF for a 75mm Pro-M that's calibrated for 24lb injectors.

i put them in because the tuning shop said that would be the best for my application and they could tune it better that way

I think you'd better look for another tuning shop in that case.

I have to agree that the injectors are a bit much for you combo. But I think it all comes down to the shop screwing up on the tune.

Example... my 347 has a cam with .579/.579 lift and 236°/245° duration. 201~cc heads, large intake and 90mm TB. Runs damn near flawless... But then again, I tuned it myself.

As for the injector thing. My car ran fine with 30# injectors, they were just enough for my car. I am now running 39# injectors. So the point im trying to get across is that although the injectors might be "bigger then you need". They can always be tuned around.

I'd put money on it being the person who tuned it.

That makes more sense but somehow it still looks like they screwed up the tune.

i also have a 95 and have learned that there are not a lot of people out there that can tune the 94/95 correctly.

The shop i take mine to has won many awards/races in 5.0 magazine etc for cars they have built. They are really good at tuning the 03/04 cobra and anything 2005 and later, but you give them a 94/95 and they get stuck...or maybe just dont care i dont know...

i have decided to get a Moates QH and tune the bitch myself....i just got mine back a week or so ago and it idles somewhat better, but the turd still dies out sometime...have to hold the damn accelerator to the floor to get it to crank again...dumbness....tune it yourself

I'm going to be a little difficult to get in touch with over the next month or so.. but please, when you get your QH, get in touch with me. I'll help you through setting it up and getting it all hooked up and reading correctly. Then i'll send you some initial changes to make along with some of my tips n tricks for tuning the CBAZA computers.

I'll have you all straightened out in no time flat.

I use a AEM 6 in 1. My only question for you is... do you still use your EGR?

No. All smog has been removed. Had an EGR eliminator plugged into the wiring harness..it did nothing..

awesome... you'll be wiring your wideband in through the EGR plug, for easy datalogging.

sounds weird, but it works.

I'll get you setup right... no worries
