Throw out bearing going bad?
So I am starting to hear a squeak type sound kinda like your belt squeaking. But I do believe it to be the throw out bearing as my belt is new and when I press in the clutch peddle the sound stops. I dunno how else to explain it. For awhile I thought it was my belt till i noticed that when i pressed the peddal in it stopped.
So I guess I might as well do my clutch and resurface the fly wheel while I replace the T.O.B.? What is a good T.O.B. I had a thread saved but my puter crashed =( with this exact info and I can't find the thread again. Also what is a good clutch kit to purchase? I am not looking for anything to fancy. Just something that will last and is a decent price. |

A Ford heavy duty clutch is good and cheap. The king Cobra clutch is better and still cheap.

Hey I'm having the same issues as yourself on my 94 GT. I was looking towards getting ford part# M-7548-A and it can be had for $59 here Ford Racing Performance Mustang Throwout Bearing (79-04 V8) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!. I would recommend having a reputed shop do this job unless you have the necessary equipment to pull the transmission and know what you are doing.

Depends on what you think is better...Pedal feel? Modulation? Wear on the transmission? I would go with a motorsports clutch before a king cobra. They wear less on the transmission.

i would replace pilot bearing and throwout bearing. as for flywheel dont resurface it, jegs sells a brand new flywheel for i think 60 dollars and ive always heard the king cobra was a good cheaper clutch. I have the centerfource dual friction and I love it. drive in DC traffic with it and its not stiff at all.
