Trans Bodies

i've been doing a bunch of research on transmissions and got the comment that if i upgrade the trans body it would improve my stock Aode transmission. what kind of improvements would be seen? just shift quality or actual torque ratings? Also it seems that my stock 1994 gt already comes with a Manual trans body, would a after market manual trans body be any different?

I think you're referring to the valve body inside the transmission and all you need to upgrade it is a shift kit (I have the Transgo HD2). It'll make the tranny shift faster, harder, and also improve the torque rating. I also highly recommend an external tranny fluid cooler, especially since you'll be seeing 100+*F Texas temperatures in the summer.

^I had the same kit in my 98, definitely makes a bit of a difference. I also had the B&M clicker shifter. I really wanted a manual, but those two together made for a pretty fun combo.

Oh, and some people say it'll always shift hard if you get that kit. That's a bunch of BS, mine only ever shifted hard at WOT.

It depends on which setting you have the shift kit at. I have mine set a little softer so that it doesn't chirp the tires when I'm going round corners.
