Slim fan wiring

I think I've asked this question before but never got a clear answer.

I have an aftermarket slim fan and need to know how to wire it up. I had it on a toggle switch but went horribly wrong..

The stock fan harness has a lo power, hi power, and ground wire. This fan has a power and ground.

The wires on the fan was much smaller than the harness but I was wondering if I could splice the low and high powers together and the ground opposite.

Either use a manual switch to control it or tap into the low speed fan pin on the ccrm. manual switch is the best way to go.

I wired a manual switch previous and the wire from the battery to the switch ran fire hot and then melted the wires and caught on fire.

Cause you did it wrong! Grab 12v power from inside the car thats hot on ignition. This way when you turn rhe car off the fan wont stay running and kill your battery. When you wire it in use 1 gauge thicker wire than what your tapping into. Also use an inline fuse along with a good ground and you shouldnt have a problem. You can also pin into the low speed pins on th ccrm.
