Ignition help...


How difficult is it to do an ignition switch on the on the cylinder/key switch??? Anyone have any idea?

if you look at the bottom of the column, you will see a small hole. Turn the ignition to the RUN position, and insert a long thin phillips head screwdriver into the hole. This will release the ignition lock from the column.

Once you have the tumbler out, you can unscrew the column cover and access the switch assembly. It should be pretty self explanatory from there on out.

All right so this doesn't involve pulling the whole steering column out at all then? I don't need a steering wheel puller or any of that? And what kind of ignition would you go with since I'm going to be replacing it just anything from autozone or something better?

a GP Sorensen(Advance Auto) piece will suffice. Its not a part that is typical, or prone to failure.

just buy one with a warranty... if a few extra bucks now, can save you more down the line... its a worthy investment.
