Ryan your car sounds pretty good, those JBA headers are a BIG part of your sound though, they are nice, HIGH as giraffe pussy, but nice headers.

As far as cars needing back pressure that is a myth and there is a few threads on here and even one with dyno charts proving that the whole thing about needing back pressure is a myth. However if you are running cats there is no point in running 3 inch exhaust, the cats are going to restrict it more than the extra half inch of pipe, and a bone stock mustang with 3" and single chambered flows is going to sound obnoxious....Only time you really need to run 3" is with forced induction or highly modded motors and strokers, when you are trying to squeeze every bit of HP you can out.

I was going to go with JBA headers on mine but they didn't have them in stock and my buddy was coming down with a trailer and all my parts so I couldn't wait, was my only chance to get all of my big stuff that won't fit in a carry on, on a plane. Still trying to find someone to stick a Dart block in their carry on for me!

if you knew what cats were for then you would know why they are such a big deal cats reduce emissions from your exhaust so that your stock race car wont polute the air if your not goin to mod your engine just stick to the stock h

how much sound difference is there between a stock h pipe and an aftermarket catted one?

a decent amount but if your not modding your engine then there is no resaon to get rid of the stock h save yourself the time and aggravation and just leave the stock h

I had an h-pipe with high-flow cats going to cherry bombs dumping out, and it sounded alright.. I switched to a custom made x pipe with high flow cats to straight pipes out the back, and I love it, wish I had changed it up sooner.
yeah ive decided now to go with the x pipe, the x gives a more exotic and more powerful tone whereas h gives it that deep sound

This fucking thread is never going to die. I would not listen to anyone that says they had cherry bombs by choice, especially if they say it sounded good..

obviously we all know by now that Flowmasters do rust lol........
I don't know if I posted in this thread yet about it but I did get a Flowmaster catback for my '95 v6 Mustang about 8 years ago. The car was used in Virginia and then Rhode Island so it had a chance to rust up north. The catback was about 6 years old when I got under the car looking for exhaust leaks--------pinholes everywhere. I called up Summit Racing (where I bought the catback from) and they sent me out a replacement catback under Flowmasters 10 year warranty. Even though I gave the old catback to UPS for shipment back to Summit (packaged in the box that the new catback came in), somehow it didn't make it back to Summit and they tried to say I owed them for the new catback. Eventually it worked out in my favor though. Basically if you're going to get new Flowmasters, work with Summit and they'll work with you if they rust out.
