EGR Blockoff plate?

Ok my buddy has a 1995 mustang gt like mine but stock. He wants to take his EGR valve off and jegs has a blockoff plate for it? Wha will happen if we take this off? Can we just take it off and everything work just fine or will it piss off the car?

I heard it would make the check engine light come on.

it will make it run like total crap because more air will be entering the engine that the ECM thinks...i made a plate for mine that works fine.

So if he deletes the EGR and puts the blockoff plate on it will run just fine?

his car will run like crap until he gets it tuned, it will increase his cylinder temps, could cause spark knock.. and will cause his gas mileage to go to shit.

leave it where it is. Its not hurting anything

Adder this is not true for every car. I always hear half the people say it does not affect it and the other half say leave it alone cause it does. Me being the way I am I said screw it, one way to find out, and took off the egr and got one of those egr delete plugs for it. I felt no difference in performance. I recently went and got my car tuned, I figured they would tell something was off with the car being that i deleted the egr. The guy told me that with my car there was really no need to connect it to a computer. He said to tune my car we just need adjust fuel and timing.

Same here. I removed my EGR a long time ago. I made my own block off plate for the TB elbow and plugged an EGR eliminator simulator into the wiring harness. No check engine light, no driveability issues, same performance, same gas mileage, and no.4 spark plug became much easier to remove.
