replace them

and dont believe anyone who says you dont need them. Even with aftermarket control arms, they are still quite effective

Some large suspension companies would disagree, but what do they know

MM lower control arms are arguably the best and if you install them, you can toss the quad shocks in the dumpster. That's exactly what I did and I've not had any wheel hop.
Mind you, other LCA's are different and if you remove the quad shocks, there's no guarantee you won't have any wheel hop.

quad shocks are ridiculously expensive... I don't have them on my car, just hotchkis upper and lower control arms, I don't have a problem with wheel hop, but my car is only driven on road courses, I don't know about drag...

The Stange adj struts and shocks are awesome for the price, they are adjustable and enable you to assist the car in hooking as track conditions change.

Check these guys out for your suspension needs, these two companies own the Mustang suspension game.

Just to say, if you had the money, you could also remove the quads and the upper control arms by converting your rear end to a 3-point live axle with MM's parts.

Yup. I think you're referring to the MM LCA/Panhard bar/Torque arm set-up. Just remember that you must have welded-in full length subframe connectors before you can add the torque arm 'cause they'll be the attachment point for the torque arm's front crossmember.
You could also use a Watt's link instead of a Panhard bar for lateral axle control. The only headache with the Torque arm/Watt's link combo is where to route the exhaust.
