emissions questions???

Ok i have a 1995 mustang gt and i am really trying to get rid of all the pesky emissions junk such as my egr and my smog wouldn't mid taking off my charcoal canister also, i feel it is UN needed and i don't want to have to fool with all the vacuum mess when one of these systems starts to malfunction. now i am not to formilluar on how this all ties into the computer and how it will affect its overall performance, i want to do this the correct way and if that means getting a chip burned to turn it all off then so be it also i am attaching a pic of some of the vacuum mess i am talking about that i want to get rid of if someone could explane to me what it as and what it all does that would be great trying to simply the motor's electronics and vacuum lines as much as possible without effecting its daily drive-ability my saying" less stuff to go wrong equals less that will go wrong" please help?

you have no good reason to delete the EGR system. Your car will infact run BETTER, having it in the car, and functioning.

i am not worried about the small loss of gas mpg and i want it off so its one less thing i have to mess with under the hood if i get it turned off properly or get the egr simulator will i have any issues with cylinder wall temps or hard starting or water else. the main reason i want it off is because the last 2 mustangs i have owned i have left it on and it only seems to get in the way and when it malfunctions it will make the car run like ass so i am tired of the head ache so i am just wanna take it off

Lots of years of discussions on this. What I found is everyone's car is different. Some have issues after taking it all off and other don't feel a thing. My car never reacted to it. Had it off for years now. Road race the car often, no issue's. When I rebuilt my engine I told the owner of the tunning shop about the whole egr being off and tunning it and all. He said we can turn the cell light off but that's about it and it's not even worth it if you don't mind having it on. The damn light's been on since I got the car so didn't bother me at all. I took the smog off and capped the rear holes in the head off. I got a egr simulator form Ebay to plug on the end of the plug after I took the egr off. My car has no problems what so ever. And lots of guys I know have done the same.

why would taking off the egr make the cylinder temp rise by anything significant? will that really cause it to lean out because of that abstinence of exhaust fumes and the small amounts of left over fuel in it? and if that is the problem that it is going lean can it be compensated by bumping up the fuel pressure a tad or will the computer adjust itself and iron itself out? sorry for all the questions but i have been plagued with failing egr components on a few of my previous mustangs and if i can get rid of it without messing with the drive-ability or the operation of car then i would prefer to take it off before it starts to mess up on this mustang

When I took off the smog pump and everything that goes along with it I was still new at the game. I knew if I disconnected any vacuum tubes to plug them. Just use your best judgment. Start with the smog pump. When you take it off your going to need a new belt and route it a different way I believe but this will save you from having to spend money on one of those delete pulleys. Also those hard lines from the pump to the back of the heads can come off but it will leave 2 holes, 1 in the back of each head that will need to be plugged. Summit sells the plugs to do this or you could just take the ends of the hard tubes and cut them off and use the tips to reattach them to the heads. Crimp the open end of the tubes for no leaks.
