reverse lights

Alright guys I've had this mustang for a little while and never noticed it. I have a 94 vert with the 96+ tail lights. Just noticed today that my reverse lights don't come on. Is there a certain fuse I need to check or what?

Not 100% sure if the wiring harness is a little different when a 94/95 replaces the taillights with the 96-98 style but in case everything is the same, check the switch on the drivers side of your T-5 transmission (assuming you have the 5-speed manual). The connector for that switch should have a round black rubber boot over it about the diameter of a quarter. When you pull this plug off the connector, there should be two studs sticking out-----that is your electrical connection for the reverse lights. Refer to this photo: Google Image Result for http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forums/attachments/5-0l-tech/58773d1231794341-reverse-light-switch-location-t5_trans_electronics.jpg
The one you want in the photograph is labeled "reverse gear switch". make sure the electrical plug is connected properly (wiring going into the plug will be at about the 6 o'clock position).
Another possibility is that the switch itself has failed.

Alright, well one of my tail lights are tinted, and the other one isn't so it looks goofy...I have the horizontal ones that are like brand new..I think I am going to put them back in, even though i like vertical ones a lot better. I will check the bulbs while I am at it. Then if that checks out good I will check the connections to the tranny. what fuse is the tail lights on? maybe something else isnt working, just something I could check.

There is no fuse for your taillights; the wiring for them leads directly to the main headlight switch. Your taillights are also wired in parallel meaning that even if one bulb goes bad then the other good bulbs will still work.

I meant to say reverse lights. But there still may not be a fuse for them. My tail lights are working just not reverse lights

Alrighty, My horizontals are in worse shape than I thought. I am going to buy another tail light to match my tinted one. I checked my bulbs and they were good, so I assume that it is the wires going to the t5 tranny, which I haven't checked yet. I will do that on a lift when I have a chance instead of crawling under the car.

Believe me, its well worth it to know that something works properly because you jacked up the side edge of the car and checked an electrical connection lol......
